Reckless Uprising story
Hailing from the Rocky Mountains of Utah, Reckless Uprising is like "a barbwire-wrapped fist under soft velvet". RU lunges and flies through their repertoire like an iron juggernaut that lands as gently as a butterfly on a scorched leaf. With original music as bright as a new day, yet as nostalgic as a sun set. Reckless Uprising offers lyrics written for a folk song and grooves fit for a fight.
The band formed in 2012 consists of long time friends Joshua Johnson (Vocals, guitar), Chris Poppleton (drums), Jarad McDonald (bass) Katie Jo (vocals, guitar) and Hilary Murray (vocals, violin, mando, cello) each musician brings a unique musical perspective and energy. With experience performing in various groups such as the Sunhouse Healers, Qwim in a pipkin, and the Mountain Hippie Band interwoven with solo projects, Reckless Uprising have the combined credits including: 9 albums, 2 independent film sound tracks, regional as well as national air play, dozens of regional and national tours, sold out performances from the legendary Whiskey a Go-Go to the snowy peaks of the Sun dance film festival, sharing the stage with the likes of Los Lobos, String cheese incident, Jerry Joseph and Rancid. The band is currently scheduled to start working on their first studio album. But the importance of a live show is where Reckless hangs its hooks, thusly gearing them up for a 2016 Fall tour.
